OMG.... Lookie lookie!!!

I think I am going to pass out at the sheer beauty of these amazing stump work artist and these are kits that can be ordered!!!!!!  I stumbled on this site last night Colour Stream The owner/artist name is Robyn Alexander .She carries several amazing artist as well as her own kits and supplies of yummy hand dyed silks ,velvets, felts etc..... I have always been fascinated by the stumpwork art  but have considered my sister the needle work artist in the family. But alas I am going to take the plunge and order a kit for Lorrie and I , and maybe with Lorries' help, togehter ( Also this means Lorrie and I doing several weekends together ..my best times)  I can learn, as a trip to Australia or New Zealand is out of the question at this time. I will keep you posted as to how I do but do go visit the site and drool.

My sister's amazing work!!! LilylovekinTails -blog  ( the pocket holds a vintage hankie with a poem  of hers hand stamped on the surface) Her name is Lorrie

The link does not work for me and I couldn't google and find that site either, but that work is just scrumptious! Loved your sisters too. Oh what fun!

There are places both online and regional that teach how to do this in the US. These are a combo of SRE and French ribbonwork. Just google it, especially SRE.
Check out Piecemakers in Costa Mesa, CA to see lots of SRE. Also Judith Baker Montano.
Check out Candace Kling and her book for ribbonwork ideas. Also look for OLD OLD books/pamphlets out there. Oh and Helen Gibb (Aussie in CO!)
CQ'ers have been doing this forever.
Oh - CQ - crazy quilt
SRE - silk ribbon embroidery.
(Sorry used to the initials!)

Oh wow thanks for sharing the links! I will head over there next!

Julie, I'm so happy you are going Veggie! You will love it. I just typed in "SDA Cookbook" on Ebay and three came up. But let me know if you want anything scanned from the cookbook my mom gave me - it's from the 60's!

I'll get the recipe for my mom's pecan patties with mushroom gravy for you too... yum!

Hugs,
Holly
