Plan B is for BISBEE!!!

Big thanks to everyone  for  your  comments and advice !!!  We where all ready to move  to Michigan  and then Mom said no and  she was the deciding force as it is her home. I trust the universes so much in all I do as  everything happens for a reason and when one door closes others always  open .And  open they DID !!  As of my last post we where still in Bisbee as the our condo was and IS  still not repaired!!!   We keep feeling that we are meant to move out of Santa fe .  The morning  after Mom said no , I went for my walk with the dogs  which took me downtown Bisbee . As   I walked along I passed  by this cute old building and noticed a  new for rent sign in the window  ?  My thought was we  could never afford the rent for this place but I  called any way for fun. WOW it was affordable  and we where first in line.  WE took a leap of faith and rented the place. The next few days we also found I cute  old house within our budget to rent  . After a week long trip back to Santa Fe to check on the condo repairs which are NOT progressing .We where able to have the insurance company  pay for our move  to Bisbee !!  Our things are in storage as we do not get the house rental till April . I can only feel  that this is meant to be as it just flowed into place .  Cal is working on doing stuff to the shop as it has a little room in the back that will be my mess making studio .The   shop will carry antiques and art and I will have a small teaching studio offering on going weekend classes both short and long. Tons of cute  boutique hotels are everywhere for those who might want to make  a trip and take a workshop. Bisbee is well worth the 1 1/2 hour drive from Tuscon as it is  so historic  and a creative visual meca oh and the airport does offer a shuttle once here everything is within  walking distance! I can hardly wait to teach  a watercolor journaling  class here  .  Tiny tin roofed victorian  houses and old run down miners shacks  cover  Bisbee's  steep hills and tons and steps lead you everwhere  - soooo  cute. The town gets a fair amount of tourist trade on the weekends and is so unique and cute as a button yet Funky as HECK  !!! Perfect for my ex hippie hubby and my free   artistic spirit!! As  we get a bit more settled in I plan to start a new BLISS BEE blog , that the name of our store  . I welcome any ideas and what ever .Wish us luck !!! Oh and p.s. last fall my computer died and it just DID IT AGAIN !!! So I am using Cal's Mac but have no access to my files or old photos  . Always by the Apple protection plan as   it is well  worth the cost !!!

Pictures  of the store!! Our's is on the left .

Wow, that sounds like such a great plan!! I love it when things come together like this and when you are able to go with the flow of the universe. Your own store in Bisbee - how wonderful!!! Better than Michigan - we used to live in Battle Creek - not too far from Allegan. One of our favorite restaurants was in Plainwell... Love, SIlke

BLISS BEE...perfect! We were in Bisbee last year at this time and I really liked it. Funky is a good word to describe it! We saw t-shirts that said "Keep Bisbee Weird". I almost bought one.
Oh, you're gonna love it! And the space is perfect! Not too large, nice windows, and near to so many other great shops. I 'think' I know where it is by the photos, but will have to go thru my Bisbee file to see.
Oh, happy day! I'm thrilled for you and wish I could stop by for a visit!
We were in Santa Fe last week and it really is nicer than it used to be about 10 yrs ago. But it's pretty crowded, too. Bisbee is a nice size!
I'll be watching your posts and wishing you well.
Hugs,
Jan

congratulations!! I just spent 2 hours shoveling snow and hardly made a dent in the driveway.
I love, love, love Bisbee and will definately stop in next time I am there. We just bought property in Tucson and can't wait to spend time (winters!!) there.

Nanci Danison had a near death experience and in this she saw a few places in edge of usa going under water. Parts of east coast and new york.
Not sure if this is going to truly happen. Her book 'Backwards' backwards to our beliefs taught here.
Japan included also. Where going through to the third epoch. Any fault lines I'd stay away from also.
Always to be safe stay inland.
I know you may get mad with me for sharing this as it maybe a non turth thing. I would kick myself if I didn't share it.
Please forgive me for the concern!
You can watch her video's on youtube.

Great news that you are going to settle in Bisbee!!! I really want to take more classes from you. The one at the Urban Barn was great but I want to know more about your craft!!!!! You are just the best teacher. I want to learn the silver class that my friends took at UB too. My husbands mother in law lives in AZ so maybe we can come. Good luck with your new adventure and I also believe one door doesn't close without another opening!!!

This is so funny. I was just thinking about you this morning. Funny, since I've never even met you! But,there I was wondering if you were going to settle in Michigan beause it would be just a hop, skip and a jump from Chicago! Really, it IS all about me.
Anyway, there you are. In Bisbee! I'm glad for you. What a thrilling adventure. Can't wait to hear all about it. Cheers - Kathy (who just chiseled about 1/2 inch of ICE off of her car)

Last night I had a dream about jumping out of a plane without a parashute, I was hanging onto my sweetheart for dear life... We managed to land safely I'm happy to say... But it was a little scary at times.

I am in awe of your leap of faith Julie, my daughter and her family are doing just the same and are moving a hundred or so miles to Glastonbury, Somerset, to set up a little, art/vintage shop... I have been so worried up till now but reading your post has filled me with some much needed optomism.

My dream must have been about taking a leap of faith... I must listen to the universe a little more and trust.

Thank you Julie, I only wish I could visit your little shop..

I like plan B. Mom said you wrote and were very excited, which makes me very excited for you and cal. This I know, what ever you decide, it will beautiful and amazing :) Although I was a little afraid it was invasion of the body snatchers when you were talking about going back to Michigan. Beautiful, yes, but really really really cold! I guess I've just gotten soft. Even thinking about Michigan makes me shiver.

Love you! So glad to here your excitement.

(hugs)

p.s. Lots of new updates for you! Joined a couple of bead clubs, which are pushing me completely out of my comfort zone, and started a new project using paper clay charms :)

oops..glad to "HEAR" rather then "here" :) I couldn't figure out how to go back and fix that.

Welcome to Bisbee -- your shop is going to be next door to our friends John & Avi who run the ART Realty office. I live in Bisbee on the weekends -- my husband & I are restoring a 100+ year old home up the canyon. Our little community is very friendly so I know you'll love it here. When are you opening your shop? Need suggestions for eating out? Try the new POCO's, Cafe Cornucopia, the Bisbee Grille, Cafe Roka and the High Desert Mkt. Into chocolates? Go to Spirited Chocolate at 134 Tombstone Canyon -- the chocolate starts from the cacao bean and goes from there. You will be impressed and wowed all at once. I hope to meet you soon. A friend of mine who took a class from you sent me your blog link and told me about you. The second Saturday of every month is the Art Walk and the galleries and shops on Main Street and the Chocolate store are open till 8:00PM.

Julie, this new avenue sounds so right for you. I love seeing the "before" pictures, and can't wait to see what it will become. Whatever you and Cal do, I know it will be a success :o)

On a different note, how freaky is the comment from Julie-ann F Bowden? Water washing up on shore, Japan included, stay away from fault lines-? All this about a week before the terrible tragedy in Japan... Wow. I had a similar premonition years ago where I had a reoccurring dream about an air show disaster. An airplane crashing into a crowd of people. It took a couple of months before it actually happened, in Germany, no less. But in the meantime, I was obsessed with air shows, and knew I would be certified crazy if I started calling around to air show organizers to warn them to cancel....
