I was just saying yesterday to a student in lab working with a microscope that they needed to believe its there before they can see it. SO, believe first, right?
Hmmmmm . . . . a question for the ages, Julie!!! Since I believe in trust and faith, I need to 'believe' and then see. Love this little guy. He reminds me of the joy of discovery. Hugs, Terri xoxo
I have to feel it my in heart, like when I see the birds flock above me,this way and that, dipping and soaring, with wind beneath them, carrying them, higher and higher.Gathering together in a dance.I do not see what carries them and yet my heart tells me it is there. So I believe,..in..everything. Warmest Regards,Cat
Gosh I love your work Julie. Thanks for liking our paint - the color is Pale Bamboo - it's a Behr Ultra paint (Home Depot). It is so neutral and goes with every color!
Our world is perception, therefore, even what you see must be based in what you already think you are seeing. It is a wonderful realization. It is wonderful because it gives us, it gives me, the power to color my world. Without knowing this joy, this power, many more things in this life would seem hopeless, colorless, light absent. I love the question. Love that you asked it, as well dear dear brilliant light, that you are. Blessings lovely lady!
I had to go away and think about this one and what I came up with is that I think it goes both ways for me. It totally depends on the situation. xoxoxo!
Whoa, I think that's such a cool perspective. The second point about needing to believe before you can see...I think that is true, because we can easily be blinded by prejudgement!
I'm away from my main computer, so I don't have your email addy on hand. But wanted to let you know that your interview over at Empty Easel is live. http://tinyurl.com/eejulieartist
I think you are wise to reach that decision, Julie. I think I would have to describe myself as self-destructive, but only up to a point. I had to let go of a marriage in which I became self-destructive during the eighteen years I thought I had to go through with it! Now, my adult son very often shows me that I'm still quite likely to fall into the self-destructive mode given the right stimulus. He tries to help me and it wears him out to screaming point(he's like you). So I am training myself to get out of turning on and even victimising myself. I don't know how your loved-and-left one behaves. What I do know is that it takes almost inhuman strength and discipline to turn things round. It's taken me at least 30 years to recognize this personality deficit in myself for what it is.

I have to see it. I'm so visual! Or touching it....very tactile, too. Good question Julie!

About 10 years ago I would've said you've gotta see it to believe it. Now I'm inclined to think the opposite way. Love this little guy!
Oops, I mean gal : )
