A perfect storm( in bead land)

Last winter a spent about 6 weeks sorting my beads. I was sooo proud ( I hear it comes before a fall)  . I had them FINALLY all organized and in their little bead boxes by color all in  my perfect paper drawers. WELL then came the move and the photo shows what  happened  . I wonder waht it would cost to have someone sort them again asI  can not yet face this mess  !!! Anyone want a summer job ?? Those  little  bead boxes are for the birds not one clasp held !!!Does anyboy have any fool proof ideas for bead storage and also esay access?? I love  storing them in the thin  paper drawers but the little boxes , now that is another story.

ACK!!!! I don't have as many as you, but I like the plastic containers where the lids snap or screw shut. Wish I had a magic wand for you to sort those suckers!

Ohhhhhh, Noooooo! All of that hard work and **poof**!!! BUMMER! I'd put this on the "it'll get done eventually" list!!! Hope you're getting all settled in your new digs. Wishing you a TON of happiness in your new home. Hugs, Terri xoxo

PS Thanks so much for your blog visit and comments. **blush** You've no idea how much I value your opinions. :)

I switched back to plastic bags, sorted into those magnetic boxes at Michael's (and I found a picture because describing them is HARD - http://www.chloeschicboutique.com/catalog.php?item=919).
Now I want to add little chalkboard circles onto the side saying what is in each container. haven't done that right now so they all have a post-it note on the side, lol.
Not sure if those would fit in a drawer, but the stacks look pretty! (M's had some great patterns last fall!)

HI cute Julie. It was so fun to see you in Virginia. You looked wonderful and you seemed so very happy. I wish you the very best and hope your happiness continues.
I love to store little treasures like that in small jars. Baby food jars are wonderful. I am sorry that you will be having to resort those after your hard work. I just recently had to re-sort some small scrapbooking odds and ends, I thought my eyeballs were going to burst from sorting them but I was so happy when I was done. Maybe you could find a teenager who needs some extra cash for the summer to help you sort them :)

WOW! I'd be pretty cranky if that happened to me! LOL!
I don't have a lot of beads, just ones that I found at estate sales but like the comment before me, that person had put them in baby food jars.
Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog, I adore my Blue!
YES YES YES! Raisins AND Grapes are both very bad for dogs. Oddly enough, my post before that was a list of "some" things that pets should NOT eat...
(if it was me, I'd put the beads in ziploc baggies- the one with a little white label that you can write on!) Good luck! - Cindi

I've used the small zip bags since
I had a similar disaster happen. Then
store by color in plastic
shoe boxes.

It's not as pleasing as other storage
possibilities but has not failed me
yet. PS, find a 5 year old...that's
the perfect age for sorting stuff.

Okay, I am with the girls who have talked about plastic ziplocks!
Simple and they will lie flat, if packed up to go somewhere! I keep my buttons in them - - -
color-coordinated, of course!

There will be a day when you need something mindless to do......wait 'til then to do anything!

....bummer.......

THIS IS EXACTLY what my beautifully organized bead cabinets looked like after the movers packed them in boxes with taping the drawwers shut and moving them across country to Virginia!!!!! I was just sick about it and could not face it for quite awhile- Someone could get very rich coming up with a good movable system for bead storage!!!!! Should we put our heads together and make lemonade out of the lemons that have fallen in our laps????? I pray that a moment or twoor 5 thousand, will come when you feel like sorting and organizing.......

oh my goodness. you poor thing. i had a fit when not to long ago I accidently dumped my black and navy toho beads together. Took me forever to sort them.

I think it might just be the perfect time for you to make yourself some bead soup.
