morning coffee talk
Last sunday night on my evening walk I had an amazing gift given to me. Just a small thing but it evoked a powerful response in me to make another big push in growing . I believe that our life is kind of like school and that the experiences we face in our life are spiritual growth classes . Some experiences we are handed are " tough test" and then some can be seen as "spring break". But what ever we are given in life it goes to say we will feel great times of joy and also great times of sorrow. The sorrow that comes is natural but requires us to learn how to heal ourselves and in doing so we grow stronger and closer to being the whole and complete person we are here to be . Anyway my gift last sunday night was a baby Great Horned owl sighting !! Folk lore says that an owl will only show himself to those who are wise and intuitive like the owl or those who have those traits in them but need to get more in touch with those traits. I feel the latter was the reason the owl showed himself to me. So this week I decide to search for sites and info that dealt more with my personal issues that need further healing. My hope was to find places that help me embrace my weaknesses with stronger tools of knowledge and support . One of my crippling issues is constant " fear " as I work for myself and support myself on my art . In searching I came on a great blog site I would like to share with those of you who also have fears that go along with wanting to start your own business or if you already are working for yourself then the fears that come with the "job". Here is is the blog site . I love the Name- Itty biz . http://ittybiz.com/entrepreneurship-what-to-do-when-youre-scared-shtless/

I love that the owl prompted you to search further. A very trusted friend always says to me "honey, its all practice." So true, although I often gnash my teeth at yet another lesson (thank you may I have another) it always makes me better on the other side.
On another note, I had an enormous thrill a couple of years ago to see a mating pair of ivory billed woodpeckers as I woke up one morning and looked out the window from my bed! I issued this prayer "Thank you."
Great website: allaboutbirds.org
There is a reason that you saw the owl(how wonderful!) and I am sure that reason you hold in your heart! You just have to Believe, a word I think you are very familiar with! Your work is fabulous!
Hi Julie
Thank you for the link it is much needed at the moment.
It must have been wonderful to see the owl as you say a wonderful gift.
I was out walking at 6am the other day (my latest try at getting a bit fitter) and heard a woodpecker, to my delight as I looked up there it was in profile tapping away at an old oak tree. It was the first time I'd seen that sight, and I felt as if someone had given me something so special, you can't explaun that feeling can you? It's wonderful.
Have a good weekend Julie.

I'm on my way to the link...need some healing. My mother said something yesterday that hit the nail right on the head. We were discussing my daughter and her dubious character, and she said that she has "amor con lastima." Love with pity. When she said that, I immediately knew that's how I've loved my daughter for many years which led to me enabling her many foibles...I just wanted her to stop the cycle of very poor decisions and stand on own 2 feet and succeed.
So thank you for this post because it just backed up how I'm feeling right now. Ok, off the the link.
xxoo,
Georgina
I have always loved those serendipitous animal sightings. Just now, as I was reading this out in our back yard, I hear this great swooshing sound and when I look up, a great big pileated woodpecker flies by right in front of me. We only see them rarely, so this was a real treat!
I love that you are allowing the owl to teach you!! Off to check out the website you mentioned! Love, Silke
Your sighting was a blessing ... and your willingness to explore its meaning shows you have the wisdom and openness to help your forward movement. That, is the true blessing x
Hear you loud and clear.
Thanks for the link

You are wise my friend!! You are a true gift, an amazing teacher and one that has a spirit most desire. May you find your way and always spread your wings. Hugs!
Julie, you are going to be very tired of me before long. I signed up for your Atlanta classes and then again for your Portland classes! Also, I am bestowing upon you the Sunshine Award for "spreading sunshine." Your wonderful creations make me smile and feel warm inside. The award can be collected at my blog, www.queenmarcyoriginals.typepad.com with details to forward it on, as well as a link to your site. I hope I will be an honor student at your classes (or at least I will try to be)!!! Marcy

What a big gift that little owl was to you! How wonderful!
Thanks for this link. And regarding your previous post - I've been so curious about soldering, too. Now you have me thinking it might be something I could do, after all.

Love the post!!!
I agree! You wrote it so beautifully. We all have fears and Have my own fear I am dealing with myself. And while a stare it dead in the face I can feel I'm overcoming it slowly with courage and faith. Life is about school. As we go on we learn different things about ourselves even when is painful but at the end there is the gift. The universe I believe helps us along the way towards our journey. I saw an owl one day as I stepped out of the house to drink tea and sit down to relax. The owl was up on a tree hanging out still quiet beautiful and so peaceful. I stood there watching and still while it was staring at me and then he flew away. I smiled and said it's going to be a great day. I love owls!!!
Julie,
The young can be very smart, but you only gain wisdom with age. I'm becoming very, very wise. I love your post about the owl. I also agree about life being like school. I'm kinda on the "Spring Break" right now...
Really looking forward to Hampton.

I so admire you and your thirst to learn more, to self improve, and to be the best whole human that you can be.
So much love I am sending to you.

What a treasure you recieved in your owl sighting- seeing an owl at all is a true delight but seeing a baby is truely rare!!! You ARE a very strong and generous woman Julie!! Iam a firm believer in what does not kill us makes us stronger IF we let it!!! I will be traveling down this road right along with you and amny others, let's all try to enjoy the trip!!!
Julie,
I loved what shared about the owl you spotted. We have a owl in our yard and during the summer evenings while the kids are in the house and my husband and I are outside sitting and recapping the day our little friend shows up settles on a branch nearby and seems to be listening. I treasure this owls quite presence.
